Traveled N this morning with Ms. Hawk. Destination…Univ. of Missouri Vet Teaching Hospital. Dr. Aida Vientos-Plotts, vet student Pam, the eye docs, and whoever else has been involved in Hawk’s issues were the folks that Hawk was going to spend the day with. We arrived at 10 AM and I was to return by 4 PM. I went and got a coffee, a banana, a yogurt and was only gone for about an hour. I waited at the waiting room…watching the news for about 5 hours. I’d like the media to know that if you are going to do a 24×7 news slashing of womens’ hormonal issues that it would be best to “spell menstruation” correctly and to “pronounce menstruation” correctly IF you want women to take you seriously with your reporting. Get a grip media and stop hunting for misrepresentation about Trump…the slash and burn is old. Focus on “policy” issues…no matter the candidate.
The late afternoon news about Ms. Hawk? Well, get this…her blood results show a huge improvement in her bone marrow generating red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets and various other key components…meaning the granulocyte colony stimulating factor (GCSF) that she received last Monday and Tuesday evenings IS CREATING LIFE GIVING CELLS AND PLATELETS again. Long story short? This is a miracle for Ms. Hawk to be responding so positively. Her eye ulcer is nearly healed, her lungs sound great, her temperature is holding at a good level, her breathing is in the good range, her heart sounds good…all improvements. The demeanor of the docs, students and staff was nothing short of jubilant when the blood results came back from the lab. Hawk’s 1st student (Amanda) is on a rotation in ICU/Emergency Care and was made aware of the results and she was also filled with awe and joy. She even brought Hawk to me this afternoon. One huge hug from me to Amanda! Lots of happy dancing for Ms. Hawk today. God has been completely gracious in granting healing hands and healing prayers to come into Hawk’s life.
We got home about 6:30 PM and Hawk wanted to eat! A wow moment. I fed her a little more at 8:45. She is very alert and resting comfortably from her “big day”. Words cannot express how much your posts, notes, calls, and prayers mean to Hawk and me. The next question will be can Hawk sustain this improvement and keep making good things happen with her bone marrow recovery. Once again, a never charted area for the U of MO Vet Hospital team and the wonders of the cross-over into the human medicine research at the University into my cowdogs’ life. ~Pretty Amazing!
